How is your way of living different from the old you?

That's the message of this text: that we, as Christ followers, are drastically different from the world! We should shine among a wicked and depraved generation.

How? Paul shares with us a couple of ways 🤍

• "Do everything without complaining." Complaining is often the voice of our inner discontentment. This discontent exposes that we are doubting God is good, and we're not trusting His use of disappointments in our lives for our good and His glory.
• "Hold firmly to the Word." If you're not reading and applying the Word, you may easily get lost in this life, and your light will dim.
• “Be a Faithful Servant." Jesus, Paul, Timothy, Epaphroditus-four examples of men who SACRIFICED. You know who won't sacrifice?

Those who don't fully believe in Christ... why? because it's risky. It's dumb to invest your time in God if He isn't real. It doesn't make sense to dedicate time to the Word if it's outdated and irrelevant. It's a bad investment to contribute your money to others or the church if it's all a scam... Sacrifice is risky, BUT when you know God is good. When you believe the Bible is true... sacrifice will bring you SO MUCH JOY!

Will being a light in this dark world make you seem weird or different? Maybe. But it's worth it.
