Highlights!

Anxiety is something most of us have struggled with, which is what makes this chapter so popular! Paul shows us there is both a reactive and a proactive way to fight anxiety. <2 The reactive way is found in Vs 6 where Paul says to pray about everything instead of being anxious! In the moment, worrying will not make it better, praying actually has the power to change!

The proactive way is found in Vs 8, where it says to think of things that are true, honorable, worthy of praise. When we are anxious, it's usually because we aren't thinking of things that are true or worthy of praise in the moment. We probably are thinking a-lot about ourselves instead of thinking about God.

Lastly, Paul counted all the things in this world as rubbish and set his heart completely on pursuing Christ. That is the key to contentment. Our contentment is In Christ. Our joy is in Christ. Our peace is in Christ.

QUESTIONS

What do you typically think about in a day? How does it compare to what Paul encourages us to think about?

Are you discontent in life right now... anything you wish you had but you don't?? Spend some time in prayer & Ask Him to satisfy you and change the desires of your heart to match His.

We finished Philippians!!! ** Have you noticed a theme in Philippians? It seems that the way to peace, the way to joy, the way to grow in your faith, and the secret to being content all involve taking your mind off your circumstances-off the things on earth and onto eternity. My 2 sentence summary of Philippians would be: The book of Philippians is about Jesus. And when you know Him, it will lead to life. When you don't know Him... you will never be satisfied.
